The Italian General Consul privately visits the Terra Sancta Museum

It’s been many years since the Italian General Consulate cooperates with the local institutions in order to safeguard and to promote the cultural heritage of the Holy Land, which could also work as a good engine per the economic development of this territory. The Italian General Consul Fabio Sokolowicz, along with this concern, was privately visiting the Flagellation Convent and the Terra Sancta Museum.

The museum director Fr. Eugenio Alliata, after a brief historical presentation of the second station of the way of the Cross (the Flagellation), guided the diplomatic man in the Flagellation and in the Condemnation Chapels, showing him the Italian artworks in these two chapels. After that, the General Consul, together with the Pro Terra Sancta Association Staff, entered in the suggestive place which hosted the Multimedia Show “Via Dolorosa”. During the show he was amused by the technology used for the historical reconstruction of the Via Crucis and the Holy City. He then made a rapid visit to the big construction site of the archeological museum which will host the Franciscan Treasure of the Custody of the Holy Land; the Italian Consul expressed great concerns for future collaborations and for an Italian promoting work of this great project.
