Digital Communications Officer – Terra Sancta Museum

If you’re ready to embark on an ambitious and unique project for Jerusalem – the creation of the first and biggest museum of Christian art in Jerusalem –  this is the offer for you!

As part of the Terra Sancta Museum team, under the direction of the Head of the Cultural Office of the Custody of the Holy Land and the supervision of the Communications & Fundraising Coordinator, you will work closely with the Institutional Communications Officer to ensure that the museum’s communications are consistent, professional and effective. You will be the driving force behind the implementation of the museum’s overall communications strategy, in line with the museum’s graphic charter, with a view to promoting all the project’s activities and stakeholders.

  1. Website

Short term :

– Animation of the website: coordinate and ensure the writing and publication of articles and news (planning, soliciting contributors, writing, proofreading, choice of visuals, etc.).

– Search engine optimisation : defining and implementing KPIs, analysing and measuring audience and traffic, analysing performance in comparison with the competition

– Monitoring the error rate, any malfunctions encountered on the site (bugs) and repairing them.

With a view to the opening of the museum:

– In agreement with and in compliance with the timetable established by the prefiguration committee: coordination of the creation of a new website for the museum.

– In conjunction with the “Collections” team, taking part in discussions on putting part of the collections online and promoting them on the museum’s future website.

– Working with the “Audiences” team, taking part in discussions on the development of an application for the museum.

– Leading the “Website” working group that will be set up as part of this project: planning meetings, defining agendas, drafting minutes, monitoring everyone’s actions, etc.

– Drawing up specifications and a tree structure

– Identifying the digital and audiovisual service providers required

– Supervision of service providers and monitoring of creative productions

  1. Social networking

– Animation of social networks with a strong emphasis on proposing and producing video content

– Managing the editorial schedule: writing posts, producing visuals, translation if necessary, validation and programming.

  1. Newsletter

– Management of the museum’s monthly newsletter initiated in 2024 : continuation of the graphic charter, identification of content to be relayed, layout in Mailchimp, dispatch, reporting.

– Proposing actions to enrich the distribution list (journalists from the art world, local cultural players, etc.) in collaboration with the institutional communications Officer.

  1. Media

– In conjunction with the Instiutionnal Communications Officer, ensure that the museum’s activities are covered by the media.

– Working with the Instiutionna Communications Officer, receiving media enquiries and directing them to the appropriate people.

– Advising and managing external teams (producing documentaries or broadcasts, news from the Christian Media Centre in connection with the museum, etc.).

– Representing the museum at events.

  1. Other tasks / day-to-day management

– English-Arabic translation for website articles

– Management of image rights (ensuring that the museum’s credits are respected everywhere, particularly for publications outside our networks)

– Daily enrichment and updating of the image bank on the museum’s server in collaboration with the Institutional communications Officer.

– Occasionally, and in liaison with the Institutional Communications Officer, providing support for on-site communications (posters, billboards, etc.) and events (exhibitions, exhibition booklets, etc.).

Profile required

– Master’s degree in information, communication or audiovisual production.

– Operational experience (design and production) and management experience in the field of communications, the museum and heritage sector is a « plus »

– A keen interest in the history of Western and Eastern Christian art (if you don’t already know this, you’ll be keen to learn, as it’s at the heart of Terra Sancta Museum’s communications).

– You are creative, methodical and rigorous. You will be able to work independently and make suggestions.

– You have excellent interpersonal skills and are keen to work with an international team.

Technical skills

– Proficiency in office automation tools (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, etc.)

– Adobe Creative Cloud suite (mainly Photoshop, After Effects and Premiere Pro)

– Proficiency in Mailchimp

– Mastery of social networking techniques (particularly Instagram)

– Perfect command of Arabic and English (another Italian or French language would be a plus).

You are expected to take up your new post on 20 March 2024 to ensure a smooth transition from your predecessor.
